Biography
Simon is a pragmatic, solutions-driven and approachable legal professional who excels at exploring and implementing real solutions to challenges and issues faced by clients, particularly in the area of Commercial and Insurance Law. He believes in life-long learning and is always willing to bring his skills and experience to the benefit of colleagues and clients, while learning new skills and consuming and applying new concepts to ensure the best possible outcomes for KHR and its clients.
Simon joined the firm in 2013 as a candidate attorney and was admitted as an attorney in 2015. He obtained his LLB from the University of South Africa (UNISA) in 2012. Before he joined KHR, he worked as a Legal Recoveries Manager at Zurich Insurance Company and as a Claims Administrator, third party consultant and Team Manager at Telesure. His areas of expertise include debt collection, recoveries and collection, insurance law, company law, insolvency law, commercial litigation, family law, drafting and interpretation of contracts and pension law.
He firmly asserts that KHR has some of the country’s sharpest legal minds and a corporate culture in which every individual is valued in a holistic manner and their initiatives and achievements both personally and organizationally are acknowledged and implemented. “We cater for all our clients’ needs and emphasize the spirit and principle of ubuntu, among ourselves as well as in our interactions with clients”, he says. “Succeeding together with others in realizing a common purpose or goal is the KHR’s recipe for success and part of the reason that the firm has continued to attract, develop and retain talented professionals.”
Both at work or in the community, Simon’s ubuntu and sense of humour make him a relatable and motivational leader. He enjoys socializing, networking, sports, playing and listening to music and continuously learning new skills. He is a Christian and multi-instrumentalist, who is very active within the church and the community.
